OCR Youth and Age Comprehension Activity Booklets Bundle!
These 16-page resource booklets contain a wide range of challenging and engaging comprehension activities for use throughout the reading of all 15 of the OCR Youth and Age’ poems in the newest exam board anthologies. Teachers have found the activities particularly useful throughout teaching, or for exam revision or guided reading sessions. They are perfect for aiding the progress of students towards meeting the key English Literature assessment objectives. Students have found these resources extremely engaging, and it is clearly highlighted within each task regarding which assessment strands the task is designed to demonstrate.

David Walliams Whole Class Reading Bundle!
These whole class reading sessions aim to develop children’s comprehension of several extracts from David Walliams texts.
There are three sessions included in total - one session each for the following David Walliams texts:

The extracts for reading are included.
Following the reading, children partake in a series of activities aiming to develop their retrieval, explanation, inference, prediction and summarising skills. Each session also contains a vocabulary check immediately after the extract is read to clarify any unfamiliar/ difficult language.
The tasks are comprised of quick-check questions, solo thinking, pair/ group discussions and deeper thinking activities.
The sessions are best suited for children in years 2-4, although with minor adaptations it could feasibly be used with slightly younger and older year groups.
This style of whole class reading, in which you are able to dip into a different text each day, is great for broadening the number of texts that children are exposed to and increasing their enthusiasm for reading.
